Meet Jay O’Neil, the mastermind behind MPH Comedy, a true East Texas country boy with a city boy dream. Influenced by his mother, a retired nurse, Jay learned early on the importance of caring for others. His journey has always been about Making People Happy (MPH), whether through his IT career or his passion for comedy.Jay's love for comedy ignited during his youth, fueled by hours spent studying improv and soaking up the humor of comedians. Despite preferring the backstage, Jay's knack for tech work and multimedia presentations shone through as a youth pastor, setting the stage for his future endeavors.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, Jay cultivated a vibrant community as the host of the largest fan website for *Whose Line is it Anyway?*, fostering friendships and laughter along the way. Today, he's known as a Quiz Master for Geeks Who Drink, with over 300 trivia nights under his belt, delighting audiences across the Houston area with his wit and charm.
With a fulfilling thirty-year career in IT, Jay found himself yearning for more ways to spread joy. Thus, MPH Comedy was born when Jay and his family relocated to New Caney, recognizing the area's untapped potential. Starting with comedy nights and events, Jay aims to plant roots in this burgeoning community, with plans to expand and share his love of laughter far and wide.
